Falcons Soar Over the Packers: TNF Recap & Review

The Atlanta Falcons took down the Green Bay Packers Thursday with a score of 35-14. This was another embarrassing loss for the Packers, and things need to be figured out ASAP.

For a struggling Atlanta team, Michael Penix Jr. gave them some new life.  

After playing Cooper Rush and Jack Strand the first two games, the Falcons looked awful offensively. 

Penix immediately came in Thursday and made a positive impact. He posted 256 yards and threw a touchdown pass. 

Drake London and Bijan Robinson each had 194 yards, which showed Penix’s impact in the offensive scheme already. 

For Green Bay, this loss just showed that this team just isn’t good enough.

Coach Matt LaFleur should be on the hot seat, and not enough people are pointing it out. 

In now his eighth season as head coach, he has 0 Super Bowl appearances and no NFC championship appearances since Aaron Rodgers was at quarterback. 

There’s also a major issue in the front office, as the moves they’ve made haven’t helped the team much. 

As for Jordan Love, he doesn’t get a pass either. He was drafted in 2020 and it looks like he peaked in the 2023 season. 

The Falcons still have a chance in the competitive NFC South, and if the Packers want to compete in the NFC North, they have to turn it around quickly. 

Both teams have struggled, but for Atlanta, there may be a beacon of hope after that type of victory.
