The 2026-27 NBA season is about to kick off, and there’s a lot to be excited about. There’s new faces in new places, high stakes, and much more.

What makes this league exciting are the players that give their life towards it, and some of them are the best of the best.

There’s ten players that stand out the most, and this is the current ranking of them heading into the year.

#10: Kawhi Leonard - It may surprise you that Leonard is here, especially after the offseason drama and the failed clippers tenure. It should be noted that he averaged a career high 27.9 points per game on 50.5/38.7/89.2 shooting splits. This is an insane stat line along with his elite defense. Toronto will be a true playoff threat with his arrival back to the city.

#9: Kevin Durant - KD’s longevity needs to be studied, it’s as simple as that. He averaged 26 points per game on 52/41.3/87.4 shooting splits last season with Houston. Entering year 20, he’s looking to make the postseason once again.

#8: Stephen Curry - Although Golden State might have a major down year, the talent of Curry is undeniable. He still gives 26.6 points per game on a great 46.8% shooting percentage. Steph alone makes teams fear the Warriors.

#7: Anthony Edwards - Ant-Man has improved his points per game every single season in his career so far, and that means he keeps trending upward. Edwards is one of the most explosive players in the association, and he’s already been to two Western Conference Finals.

#6: Jalen Brunson - The champ is here, literally. Brunson is coming off of a championship season, and he wants another one. His insane Finals stat line of 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in the gentleman sweep was remarkable.

#5: Luka Doncic - This may finally be the year Doncic wins an MVP award. The Lakers have officially established that it’s his team, and he will dominate. Last season he averaged 33.5 points per game along with 7.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists. It’s crazy to think he could average even more this season.

#4: Giannis Antetokounmpo - Miami just got a whole lot more hot. Signing The Greek Freak was a move that the Heat desperately needed. His resume speaks for itself, and they automatically became a playoff threat from this move.

#3: Victor Wembanyama - After making the NBA Finals in his third season, Wemby is out for revenge after the devastating loss. It’s scary to think how stacked his resume is at the age of 22, but he still has more to prove.

#2: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - SGA is already in all time talks, and for good reason. The back to back MVP wants to win another championship with OKC, and he’s going to have to do some more heavy lifting after their quiet offseason.

#1: Nikola Jokic - The Joker is the most well rounded player in the game, and is one of the greatest talents we’ve ever seen. Denver is a well oiled machine when he has the ball in his hands, and he makes sure they’re a consistent contender.
