Sixers Scrimmage for the Public

The Philadelphia 76ers hosted an open scrimmage at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, and I was able to see the new squad up close and personal.

After adding Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, Philly’s team looks like a championship contender.

The event is usually held in Delaware where their  G-League affiliate Blue Coats play, but they moved the event to Philadelphia to accommodate their fans.

More than 10,000 fans packed out the arena, and proceeds from ticket sales went to the Sixers Youth Foundation.

The new squad looked fluid, and it’s a scary sight for the rest of the league.

LeBron showed out with multiple dunks and three pointers, and looked quicker than he did last season in Los Angeles.

Labaron Philon Jr was a standout in the scrimmage, as he was scoring on the Sixers starting five with ease.

Philon will be a major piece off the bench, and Philly’s guard rotation is insane.

The guard room includes Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Anfernee Simons, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Caleb Love, and Philon.

Joel Embiid visibly looked slimmer and faster, and his teammates had a hard time covering him.

Tyrese Maxey was the star of the show though, giving many of his teammates buckets and looking like the best player on the team.

Philadelphia fans have something to look forward to this season, and they really could win the championship.

If they look as good as they did today, the rest of the NBA truly has a problem on their hands.
