The City of Brotherly Bad Luck
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is out indefinitely with a blood clot located in his calf.
This is a devastating blow to a team that’s already struggled this year, not just with play, but injuries as well.
Philly’s recent injury report had 40% of their roster on it, and that’s extremely concerning.
Not only is Hurts injured, but names such as Saquon Barkley, Devonta Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Zack Baun, Jonathan Greenard, and Landon Dickerson have dealt with injuries as well.
It doesn’t help that future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson abruptly retired as well. This was a tragedy to an already damaged offensive line.
The offensive line play has been poor this season, as Jalen Hurts has been pressured on 44% of plays this season, highest in the NFL.
What’s even more concerning is that the medical staff knew about Hurts’ blood clot prior to the game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This can potentially be considered medical malpractice, and it should be noted by the league.
The vibes in Philadelphia have just been off this season, and who knows if it will get any better.
Offensively, the Eagles have put together horrific performances, and it all comes down to head coach Nick Sirianni.
If things don’t get any better soon, they have a legit chance of missing the playoffs.
