2026 NFL Division Predictions

The National Football League is back in action, and it’s going to be electric in 2026. Many teams look different this year, but they are all chasing one goal, a championship. 

It’s as simple as this, every division is up for grabs this season. With the many additions and subtractions of players this offseason, the task of winning the Super Bowl starts with winning the division. Here are the potential division winners:

AFC East: Buffalo Bills 

Although the New England Patriots just made it to the big game, their schedule is much tougher this season, and Super Bowl hangovers are very real. Even with the addition of AJ Brown, the Bills are just hungrier than ever before. They know that time is ticking in their championship window, and former MVP Josh Allen is very aware of that. The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are fighting for the number one pick in next years’ draft, so they won’t be in consideration. 

AFC North: Baltimore Ravens 

Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson is under immense pressure this season to get the Ravens back to the promised land. With new coach Jesse Minter, Baltimore has something to prove. The Cincinnati Bengals know their clock is ticking as well. Since their Super Bowl appearance in the 2021 campaign, things have been bleak. They finally have a solid defense to compete, but the biggest question mark is the health of Joe Burrow. Until he’s fully healthy, picking them as division winners is difficult. As for the aging Steelers, winning the division again will be a tough task. For Cleveland, well you know the answer. 

AFC South: Houston Texans

There’s not much else to say here, the Texans are a pure juggernaut. Their defense is elite, and teams will be frustrated at the sight of playing them. CJ Stroud has to remained poised and not turn the ball over, which was a huge reason for their playoff exit last year. The Jacksonville Jaguars have a shot, but they just aren’t as dominant as Houston. The Colts and Titans are simply still in rebuilding mode, so no division crowns for them just yet.

AFC West: Denver Broncos

Denver’s season ended in heartbreak last season by losing in the AFC Championship. A big reason for that was Bo Nix breaking his ankle, but he’s ready for the 2026 season. The Broncos defense is still stellar, and with the addition of Jaylen Waddle on the offense, Denver is tough to beat. The Chiefs will still be in the mix, but Patrick Mahomes is recovering from a torn ACL, so we will see how that plays out. For the Chargers and Raiders, they will need miracles to fight for the division title.

NFC East: Dallas Cowboys

One thing about the NFC East, the winner changes almost every season. That tradition will continue again with Dallas taking it this year. Jerry Jones has built a great team on paper, and there are very minimal excuses for them. As for Philadelphia, they will come very close to the crown. It could come down to the last few weeks of football to decide the winner of the division. The Commanders and Giants will once again be on the outside looking in, as both teams are figuring out how to play good football again. 

NFC North: Chicago Bears

Coming off a near NFC championship appearance, “Da” Bears are looking to continue their dominance. Caleb Williams & Ben Johnson have taken Chicago by storm. The Lions will likely give them some trouble, but their time is running out. The Vikings and Packers are still trying to find their strides, as Minnesota has another new quarterback and Green Bay lacks offensive weapons. 

NFC South: Carolina Panthers

The Panthers almost eliminated the Rams in the Wild Card round, and it showed how much potential they truly have. They are young, and it showed frequently last season by how inconsistent they were. This season will look much better for Carolina. Tampa Bay collapsed midway through last year, and not much has changed in the offseason. The Saints and Falcons are still trying to find their way as rebuilding franchises. 

NFC West: Los Angeles Rams

Even though the Seattle Seahawks are reigning Super Bowl champions, the following year slump is a true testament. LA acquired Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald in the offseason, which is terrifying for the division and the rest of the league. The 49ers are again dealing with injuries, and Arizona is dealing with a case of tanking.
