Heat Check | What's Going on in South Beach?

The Miami Heat made one of the biggest offseason splashes by signing superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The issue was, they gutted their roster and draft capital to obtain him, and they’ll feel that this season.

Game one of the season included the Minnesota Timberwolves beating Miami by a whopping 25 points.

Miami’s biggest issue is their depth. There’s simply not enough around Antetokounmpo to compete for a championship.

This feels very similar to the Milwaukee teams that he played for, which is the reason why he wanted out in the first place.

Davion Mitchell, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins being his surrounding talent in the starting five is hilarious.

Bam Adebayo honestly hasn’t improved in his career so far either. By now, he should be a walking 22 points & 11 rebound a night player.

Even after scoring 83 points last year, he somehow still averaged 20.1 points per game.

The point is, the talent surrounding Giannis isn’t good enough to win a championship in this stacked Eastern Conference.

The bench is awful too, with Tim Hardaway Jr and Bobby Portis being their best pieces.

Miami needs to trade for another scorer to bolster their chances at another championship.

Until then, they are the most overrated team in the NBA.
