Jalen Hurts Must Play...Quarterback?

Jeffery Simmons disrespects Jalen Hurts: “We have to make him play quarterback” 

As the Philadelphia Eagles play the Tennessee Titans Sunday, All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons told reporters “we just have to make Jalen Hurts be a quarterback”. 

This comment has caused a decent amount of controversy, especially in the Eagles locker room and fan base. 

Jalen Hurts is one of, if not the most disrespected player in the National Football League.  

Year after year, people make these comments about him not being able to make plays in the pocket. 

Hurts is more than just an athletic quarterback, and he’s showed that time and time again. He hasn’t been to two Super Bowls (and won one) for no reason.

It’s quite funny when you watch Hurts’ last performance versus Tennessee, where he had 380 passing yards and 3 (!) passing touchdowns.

Not to mention, 370 of those passing yards came within the pocket. Jeffery Simmons was a member of the Titans as well, so he saw it first hand. 

Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith responded to Simmons by saying “I ain't gonna do what they did," Smith said. "Cam Ward is a great quarterback...We've got to bring our best foot forward every game."

This is classy by Philadelphia’s young edge rusher by not being petty back. 

All the Eagles and Jalen Hurts can do is try to dominate the Titans Sunday in Nashville. Hurts has nothing to prove to anyone, since he’s already been an All-Pro and a Super Bowl MVP. Not many quarterbacks can say that for themselves.
