Seahawks vs Patriots Super Bowl Rematch

Week one of the 2026 NFL season is almost here, and it’s going to be a great one. A rare opening night matchup is between the two teams who just played in the big game: the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.

Both of these teams are hungry to reach that illustrious game once again. Seattle is essentially running back their team, for the most part. A huge loss was the Super Bowl MVP in Kenneth Walker III. They also lost Pro Bowl cornerback Riq Woolen. 

New England is coming in with one of the biggest splashes in the offseason, All-Pro wide receiver AJ Brown. This is a huge piece for MVP runner up Drake Maye. The offense will be tougher to defend and the Seahawks know it. 

It’s not just player changes though, it’s personnel changes as well. Klint Kubiak, Seattle’s offensive coordinator from last season, is now the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. This raises natural question marks about how the offense will look for the reigning champions.

The Patriots had other issues in the personnel department, such as the Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini fiasco. This put some heavy negative light on the organization, but Vrabel wants to move on from it. 

New England will come out firing on Wednesday night, especially due to Seattle celebrating their championship win on their home turf. That’s enough to make any team angry. 

Both teams are looking to avoid the almost inevitable Super Bowl slump. Most teams don’t get back there the following season, especially with the rest of the league improving their rosters and having more rest.
