The 2025 College Football Season begins on Saturday August 23rd when #17th ranked Kansas State Wildcats vs #22 Iowa State in Dublin Ireland.
Overall the team that has the biggest bullseye on their back is the Texas Longhorns because there are preseason #1 and rightfully so due to the abundance of talent this squad has on the roster. The team is led by Quarterback Arch Manning who could be the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy this season but he has a slew of skilled players around him from a offensive standpoint such as Running Back Quintrevion Wisner, Wide Receiver Ryan Wingo, Wide Receiver Emmitt Mosley V,Wide Receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. and Tight End Jack Endries.
Defensively the Longhorns are strong and stout because players like Linebacker Anthony Hill Jr and Cornerback Malik Muhammad. Coach Steve Sarkisian has a lot of pressure to deal with as the Longhorns will play the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes on the road on August 30th.
Penn State is ranked #2 to began the season with national championship aspirations on the docket this upcoming season in 2025. Led by Quarterback Drew Allar he has maybe the best running back tandem in all of college football:Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen. At Wide Receiver keep your eyes on Devonte Ross.
Defensively the Nittany Lions have a standout like Middle Linebacker Amare Campbell. The 3rd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will have a new starting quarterback in Julian Sayin but he will have plenty of help when he will be throwing to arguably the best wide receiver in the college game in Jeremiah Smith.
Also defensively, keep eyes on Free Safety Caleb Downs for the Ohio State Buckeyes. At #4, the Clemson Tigers are back where they belong in terms of being in the hunt for national championship led by Quarterback Cade Klubnik, expectations are back where Clemson are accustomed to being a national championship contender.
Finally at #5 ,the Georgia Bulldogs which are always perennial national championship contender on a regular basis now have the opportunity to win a third national championship this decade of the 2020s to possibly solidify being the team of the decade. Obviously no Carson Beck who transferred to the University of Miami. But the Quarterback will be Gunnar Stockton who will have plenty of weapons to throw to like Wide Receivers Zachariah Branch and Noah Thomas.
On the defensive side of the ball, keep eyes on Defensive Tackle Christen Miller and Safety KJ Bolden. For the picks of the week for Week 0,I think Kansas State Wildcats will beat Iowa State 27-17,UIW beats Nicholls,UNLV beats Idaho State, Portland State beats Tarleton State, Kansas beats Fresno State, Western Kentucky beats Sam Houston, UC Davis beat Mercer, Stanford beat Hawaii and Southern beats North Carolina Central.
