1. Swimming
Swimming is a full-body workout that builds strength and cardiovascular fitness without putting excessive stress on the joints. It can also be surprisingly relaxing. Whether you swim laps, join a recreational club, or simply spend time in the pool, it’s an easy way to stay active without feeling like you’re exercising. Also, it’s a life skill that we should all strive to master.

2. Cycling
Cycling is perfect for people who like being outdoors. A bike ride can be as casual or challenging as you want, from a relaxed ride through the neighborhood to a demanding mountain route. It’s also a great way to explore new places while improving endurance and leg strength. You miss out on so much when traveling by car. Get out on your bike and discover the little neighborhood hang outs while get some exercise time in.
3. Tennis or Pickleball
If exercising alone sounds boring, try a racket sport. Tennis and pickleball (which has become increasingly popular) combine movement with competition and social interaction. Because you’re focused on following the ball and playing against an opponent, you may barely notice how much you’re moving.

4. Soccer
Soccer is another great choice for people who prefer exercise with a social element. Constantly changing direction, sprinting, passing, and defending provides an excellent cardiovascular workout. Joining a recreational league can also introduce you to a new community of active people.
5. Dance
Dance may not be the first activity that comes to mind when you think of sports, but it can provide an intense cardiovascular workout while developing coordination and balance. From salsa and hip-hop to ballroom and contemporary dance, there’s a style for almost everyone.
Ultimately, the best form of exercise is the one you actually enjoy doing. You don’t need to force yourself onto a treadmill or into a weight room if those activities don’t motivate you. Try different sports, invite some friends, and find something that makes you look forward to being active. When exercise feels like entertainment, staying fit becomes much easier.
