NFL Outlook:

Let's look at the week that was in the NFL where the Cowboys and Giants played a shootout and The Dallas Cowboys prevailed by winning by score of 40-37. The key play in the game was the field goal by Kicker Brandon Aubrey who made a 64-yard field goal to tied the game at 37. Then Aubrey made a 46-yard field goal to win in overtime. Superb in defeat was Quarterback Russell Wilson of The New York Giants who threw for 450 yards including 3 touchdown passes. How about Quarterback Daniel Jones of the Indianapolis Colts playing flawless football at quarterback position against the Denver Broncos vaunted defense where he completed 316 yards passing including 1 touchdown pass. Running Back Jonathan Taylor of Indianapolis Colts ran for 165 yards on 25 carries. The final score was 29-28. Finally the rematch of Super Bowl a season ago where the Philadelphia Eagles won 20-17 against the floundering Kansas City Chiefs who look a shell of their former selves. The Chiefs offense is not the same with no Xavier Worthy or Rashee Rice at Wide Receiver. Travis Kelce is just not the same tight end maybe father time is catching up. The Eagles just find ways to win not in a pretty way but in a whatever it takes kind of way.

On September 21st 1970 Monday Night Football made its debut when the New York Jets played on the road against the Cleveland Browns featuring the marquee player in this game in Quarterback Joe Namath. Cleveland would win this game by score of 31-21. ABC Sports had the rights to Monday Night Football as ABC executive Roone Arledge spearheaded this idea and concept for Monday Night Football to become a reality. The NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle approved this idea and the rest is history. To this day Monday Night Football is still going strong with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman doing the broadcast. But the first broadcast team to do Monday Night Football was Keith Jackson,Don Meredith, the one and only incomparable Howard Cosell. The Monday Night Football platform would become a cultural phenomenon.
