Will Anyone Stop the Philadelphia 76ers?

The Philadelphia 76ers had their best offseason of all time, and it’s already showing early in this 2026-27 NBA season.

Philly is off to a quick 2-0 start, and both wins were absolute statements. The fact that this Sixers team hasn’t established long chemistry yet is terrifying.

They started the season by defeating the defending champion New York Knicks on their ring and banner night.

New York was supposed to win that game, with everything being about their celebration of being the best team in basketball.

Philadelphia didn’t shoot the ball entirely too well, but their talent alone outweighed that.

Once Jaylen Brown and LeBron James started clicking, the rhythm of the entire 76ers team changed.

Tyrese Maxey led the team in scoring, and it showed that he’s truly the face of the franchise that’s desperate for a title.

In the second game of the season, Philly had their biggest comeback in the last 30 years.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off an Eastern Conference Finals appearance, so this was a great test for the Sixers.

Cleveland jumped out to a 29 point lead in the first half, which was in very dominating fashion. Just like the Eastern Conference Finals last season, they blew a lead.

Philadelphia came out immediately in the second half and stole the momentum from the Cavs. Their massive lead dwindled swiftly.

The Phab 5 of Maxey, Edgecombe, James, Brown, and Embiid combined for 105 points in the victory.

This starting lineup and solid bench is showing that (if healthy) they can immediately compete for the Larry O’Brien in June.

The rest of the NBA should be worried once this 76ers team develops more of a rhythm.
