The College Football landscape of games was uneventful for the most part except a few upsets like South Florida upsetting #13 Florida by score of 18-16. Baylor defeated #17 SMU by score of 48-45 in double overtime. Finally #12 Arizona State was upset by Unranked Mississippi State by score of 24-20.

The game between 2 ranked teams like Oklahoma vs Michigan where the Sooners won by score of 24-13. Moving forward in Week 3 there are few compelling games like #6 Georgia vs #15 Tennessee,#18 South Florida vs #5 Miami and #16 Texas A&M vs #8 Notre Dame. I got Georgia,Miami and Notre Dame to be winners this weekend in the college football landscape. Florida travels to LSU at night in Death Valley so it is intriguing to see how things pan out tomorrow night. But overall LSU wins in a close one.

NFL Outlook

In the NFL landscape of Week 1,the game of the week was definitely the classic comeback between 2 Super Bowl contenders like Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills. The Bills won 41-40 overcoming 15 point deficits of 34-19 and 40-25 respectively. Quarterback Josh Allen of Buffalo Bills threw for 394 yards including 2 touchdown passes and 2 touchdown rushes. Wide Receiver Keon Coleman caught 8 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Kicker Matt Prater made the game winning field goal as time expired from 32 yards.

How about Quarterback Aaron Rodgers throwing 4 touchdown passes against The New York Jets winning 34-32 on the road. Rodgers showed that despite his age can still play at a high level. The Packers beat the Detroit Lions by score of 27-13 led by a vaunted defense featuring Micah Parsons who had 1 sack. Quarterback Jordan Love of Green Bay threw 2 touchdown passes including 188 yards passing. Moving forward to Week 2 the game of the week is between a Super Bowl rematch of The Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs are coming off a tough loss against the Los Angeles Chargers losing by score of 27-21. This is a must win for the Chiefs obviously don't want to go 0-2. I take the Chiefs in a close one moving forward with other predictions like Steelers over Seahawks, Bills over Jets,Rams over Titans and Lions over Bears.

Former manager Davey Johnson passed away recently and definitely the best manager the New York Mets ever had from 1984-1990 was able to win a World Series championship in 1986. He was a manager who ahead of his time with the saber metrics infrastructure that made him ahead of the curve in terms of analytics aspect of baseball emphasizing on base percentage and favorable platoon matchups.

Finally a trip down memory lane in college football history back on September 12th 1970 55 years ago, the USC Trojans faced the Alabama Crimson Tide which would be a watershed moment in college football lore because it was the first time a integrated football team played in the state of Alabama. The Trojans won 42-21 where Running Back Sam Bam Cunningham ran for 135 yards and scored 2 touchdowns against an all-white Alabama team. Alabama Head Coach Bear Bryant scheduled this matchup due to integration for the program including recruitment of his first black player but faced resistance from the state's trustees. The impact and significance of this game was a gamechanger due to racial integration of football and college athletics in the American South. The superior talent of USC resulted in Alabama integrating its program.Wilbur Jackson and John Mitchell would be the first blacks to integrate Alabama football and be the catalyst to Alabama returning to national dominance the following season.
