The College Football landscape continues in October where teams like Texas and Penn State who had great high expectations going into the upcoming season. Unfortunately the hype machine behind the these 2 teams hasn't lived up to the hype.
The Texas Longhorns lost to the Florida Gators on the road losing by score of 29-21 so with this loss,Texas is currently unranked due to this loss. Texas Longhorns was ranked 9th in the polls coming into this matchup. It is very difficult to live up to the hype of being a top 3 team to began the season. Texas looks like a paper tiger all hype but bark in their bite. The same can be said that of the Penn State Nittany Lions who was upset by unranked UCLA on the road losing by score of 42-37. Penn State had big expectations to win the Big Ten which is still possible but they are currently unranked in the AP Poll. The Nittany Lions had national championship aspirations coming into the season but have failed horribly in expectations to win a national championship.
The Miami Hurricanes continue to impress on the road against the Florida State Seminoles taking a 28-3 lead but the Seminoles was able to come back to cut the lead to 28-22 including a 96-yard drive on 19 plays where Quarterback Thomas Castellanos of Florida State did his best to rally the team but the Canes held for the victory. Quarterback Carson Beck of Miami threw 4 touchdown passes to Wide Receiver Malachi Toney who scored 2 touchdowns including Wide Receiver C.J Daniels who had 2 touchdown catches. The Canes remain a top 3 team right now see if they finish the deal. Moving forward to this week's slate of games keep eyes on Oklahoma vs Texas,Alabama vs Missouri,Ohio State vs Illinois,Georgia vs Auburn,Oregon vs Indiana, and Michigan vs USC.
Predictions:
Oklahoma over Texas
Alabama over Missouri
Ohio State over Illinois
Oregon over Indiana
Michigan over USC
NFL Outlook:
The NFL landscape of things continued last week with the Seahawks vs Buccaneers were in a shootout between Quarterbacks Baker Mayfield of Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Sam Darnold of Seattle Seahawks where the Buccaneers improved to 4-1 winning by score of 38-35. Mayfield threw for 379 yards on 29-33 including 2 touchdown passes. Superb in defeat was Darnold who threw 4 touchdown passes on 341 yards.
The Denver Broncos overcame a 17-3 deficit on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles to win 21-17. The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season. Also the New England Patriots upset the unbeaten Buffalo Bills by score of 23-20. Now every team in the NFL has a loss in the loss column. Finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 4-1 by beating the Kansas City Chiefs by score of 31-28. Moving forward keep eyes on the slate of games this week including 49ers vs Buccaneers, Seahawks vs Jaguars, Commanders vs Bears, Lions vs Chiefs.
Predictions:
The Buccaneers will beat the 49ers.
The Jaguars will beat the Seahawks.
The Commanders will beat the Bears.
The Lions will beat the Chiefs.
MLB Postseason:
Finally the MLB Baseball Playoffs is heating up with the Toronto Blue Jays eliminating the New York Yankees to advance to the ALCS. Keep eyes on Vladimir Guerrero Jr for the Blue Jays. The Los Angeles Dodgers advanced against the Philadelphia Phillies to be in the NLCS. The Seattle Mariners play in a Game 5 in the Divisional Series against the Detroit Tigers. I will take the Mariners to advance and play the Blue Jays in the ALCS. Another Game 5 will be between the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Divisional Series. I will take the Cubs in a upset over the Brew Crew.
