The College Football Season is getting towards the mid season point of the season. Now in mid October teams that in contention can't afford to take a lost or else so last week Oklahoma was upset by archrival Texas losing by score of 23-6. Oklahoma was ranked 6th in the polls.

Indiana Hoosiers of football was a big storyline last week as they went on the road against the 3rd ranked Oregon Ducks who had a 18-game home winning streak which was the longest in college football including a 23-game regular season winning streak.  The Hoosiers won 30-20. Alabama won on the road at Missouri by score of 27-24.


Moving forward to this week's slate of games on Friday night 2nd ranked Miami Hurricanes hosts the Louisville Cardinals. The last 2 years these matchups have been high scoring affairs such as 52-45 and 38-31. Miami currently has a 10-game home winning streak. 10th ranked LSU Tigers faces Vanderbilt who is 17th ranked on the road. Ole Miss who is ranked at #5 faces on the road against #9 Georgia. 11th ranked Tennessee Volunteers faces on the road against 6th ranked Alabama including rivals #20 USC against the 13th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

NFL Outlook:


In the NFL landscape,Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be the best team in football at 5-1 who beat the San Francisco 49ers by score of 30-19. Quarterback Baker Mayfield of Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be the frontrunner for MVP. The New York Giants upset the defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles by score of 34-17.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart of The New York Giants ran for 58 yards including a 20-yard touchdown run and 195 yards passing. Running Back Cam Skattebo of The New York Giants ran for 98 yards including 3 touchdown runs. The Detroit Lions lost on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs by score of 30-17. The Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw 3 touchdown passes.

Now for the Historical Retrospective content on October 1st 1975,Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier for the final time in the Thrilla In Manila to conclude the trilogy. Ali won by technical knockout in the 14th round. Frazier's eye was swollen and exhausted that the fight was called off.


On the MLB Baseball front, the 1975 World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Cincinnati Reds. The 2 games that stands was Game 6 where Catcher Carlton Fisk hit a walk off home run in the 12th inning to win 7-6 after trailing 6-3 in the bottom of 8th inning when pinch hitter Bernie Carbo hit a game tying home run to tie the game at 6-6 on October 21st 1975.

October 22nd 1975 was Game 7 where the Red Sox had a 3-0 lead early on but the Big Red Machine made a comeback where Pete Rock tied the game with a single in the top of the 7th inning. Then in the top of the 9th,Joe Morgan of the Cincinnati Reds hit a 2-out single to give the Reds a 4-3 lead. The Cincinnati Reds won the 1975 World Series.



The 1985 Chicago Bears was a legendary team and iconic whether it be the 46 defense coordinated by Defensive Coordinator Buddy Ryan featuring players like Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Steve McMichael, Otis Wilson and Wilbur Marshall. The defense allowed 198 points including 54 takeaways.The offense was led by Quarterback Jim McMahon,Running Back Walter Payton,and Wide Receiver Willie Gault. 

Head Coach Mike Ditka was the Head Coach who led a team that had a 15-1 season. In the postseason the Bears were dominant shutting out the New York Giants 21-0 and 24-0 against the Los Angeles Rams. Then in Super Bowl 20, the Patriots lost to the Bears by score of 46-10.

NBA Outlook:


The NBA Season will start on October 21st overall the team to beat is Oklahoma City Thunder who are the defending champion that has a strong nucleus of Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Jalen Williams & Chet Holmgren. The Houston Rockets could challenge but the torn ACL of Fred VanVleet could deter that. Oklahoma City will come out the Western Conference maybe Denver Nuggets could be a challenger to win the West. The addition of Cam Johnson,Bruce Brown,Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jonas Valanciunas.

In the Eastern Conference keep eyes on the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers should make the Finals and play the Thunder so Donovan Mitchell and the crew should advance to play the Thunder for the NBA championship. Overall OKC will repeat as champions and began a new dynasty in the NBA.
